Scholarship Guidelines
The Fauquier Business and Professional Women (FBPW) organization awards one scholarship to a graduating female senior, planning to go on to college to continue her studies, from each public high school in Fauquier County.
Each scholarship is a one-time award of $500 presented in the Spring of the student′s senior year.
Applicants must complete a short Scholarship Application form, consisting of four questions, and write a brief essay in response to a specific question listed on the application form.
Applicants should write their names only on the cover sheet of the Scholarship Application form, not on the question page or their essay page(s).
Completed Scholarship Applications forms with essays attached must be returned to FBPW by the established deadline. Applicants should have all materials in to the Career Center by April 2009.
If selected as the winner, the applicant must agree to have her essay published in the FBPW newsletter, to attend an FBPW meeting to read her essay to the membership, and to write one follow-up letter to the FBPW newsletter during the course of her first college year.

Winchester Business and Professional Women Scholarship Application Information
Winchester BPW awards two $500 scholarships annually:
Winchester BPW Memorial Foundation Scholarship for recent high school graduates
Marie D. Prosser Scholarship for returning adult students
Applicants must be a resident of Winchester or Frederick County and be either a graduating senior, a candidate for a higher education degree, returning to school to prepare for a new career or in a program to upgrade proficiency in a present career.
Applicant may be at any level of education/year of study to be considered. Application forms are available from local high school guidance offices, local college financial aid offices, or the Winchester BPW Scholarship Committee Chair. The application deadline is April 1, 2008.

Applicants must submit a completed application form by the deadline. Three written references from non-relatives should be attached to the application. The scholarship committee will select three or four finalists in each category to interview. The winners are asked to make a brief presentation of their educational and career plans at the June BPW meeting.
The scholarship may be used toward any education related expenses. The scholarship is sent directly to the college/trade school the applicant is attending after August 1, 2008.
